Pros: Lightweight, Dynamic Range, Photo Quality, Battery Life
Cons: Lacks Bracketing, not 100% view cover, slow live-view and exosious energy.
Opinion: It's my first DSLR, chosen after months and months to browse the internet reviews of Nikon (D5600), Pentax (k70), Fuji (xt20), Sony (a6000), I convinced myself to take it for its sensor, high dynamic range (the recovery of shadows and highlights in PP is amazing) I certainly can't make comparisons with ML or FF not owning them, but on the internet everyone talks about it very well, and given its really low initial price I took it. Well, what about, as an amateur amateur photographer I enjoy a mess, I'm very happy; at first my photos were flat, dull, without thickness, x nothing beautiful, but once I learned a bit of PP (now I shoot only in RAW) here she gives me delicious shots, beyond my most rosy expectations. It's very light (I go around with less than 1kg with its 18-55VR and 70-300VR), with a battery charge I do ca 600-700 photos, the controls I learned immediately, well arranged, the menu is quite intuitive, even the videos are excellent x my modest needs about it , which add... As defects, well, I would have preferred that there was Bracketing (I would try some HDR shots), and that the scope covered 100% of the frame (I "defaced" some good shots with elements present at the ends of the frame not visible in the crosshairs), the live-view is precise but slow and consumes a lot more battery (sin), in Manual mode the SETTING of ISOs is a bit cumbersome, and the Nikon Capture NX-D software is really basic, with more than one flaw. But the merits of the D3400 far outweigh the flaws! I couldn't be happier, just a happy purchase! |
