tamron_28-200rxd Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD

Pros: Perfect for mountain outings or holidays.... Landscapes, streets, portraits, all in one! Beautiful colors, nice contrast, light and resistant to extreme cold (used at - 25 degrees C.)

Cons: Obviously less sharp and "clean" than a fixed zoom or a prime lens. Very noticeable alo type reflection around light sources taken in certain situations.

Opinion: The all-rounder lens "only for holidays" that then for one reason or another always remains glued to the machine! I replaced a Sony 24 105 F4, which bad luck wanted me not to find a successful copy (2 decentralized on 2) to try I took this tamron, which despite being less sharp in an absolute sense but has a very homogeneous yield from edge to edge to the vare apertures / focal. It goes well with the tamron 17 28 2.8, then all with 67mm filter. The only problem is that in some situations a very evident wing effect is created around a light point if taken frontally at the center of the frame.

tamron_17-28rxd Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD

Pros: It also sharpens with 43mpx sensor, incredible resistance to backlight flares, feather weight for lens type, well balanced on the A7xxx series, 67mm filter diameter, competitive price.

Cons: By-wire ring for focus (if used for astrophotography requires a correct search for fire), the plastic of the barrel in my opinion is delicate and subject to smears, the lens correction profile from what I see is still fugitive.

Opinion: A lens often used for video, but in my case I find it perfect in landscape photography, mounted on A7RII I do not see any particular sharpness drops in the focal points I use frequently, from 17mm to 24mm, I find it splendid between F3.2 and F5.6, without removing it in full-aperture shots. I was undecided for a long time between this lens and the excellent Sony 20mm 1.8, but I gave priority to the greater flexibility of the Tamron rather than the brightness of the Sony. Personal opinion, compared to the Sony the Tamron is a step above for resistance to flares and a step below for homogeneity of the blurry in the case of artistic photos with close subject. I am very satisfied with the purchase.
