nikon_d7200Nikon D7200

Pros: Excellent sensor, good tropicalization and decent ergonomics.

Cons: Controls, noise from 800 iso in poorly lit areas, light meter not up to everything else.

Opinion: Good all-rounder SLR even today, light meter that unfortunately, if I am not mistaken, is the same as the d5300 (very disappointing the latter) and that puts in crisis the readings in certain situations where white is the master (feathers of birds, fuselages of airplanes, racing cars, etc ...) It is useful to have an ND4 filter for panning, not being able to shoot from 50 ISO with direct light. With good optics it can still give great satisfaction to the photographer, despite everything, his files are deep, they do not deviate so much from those of a d750 if well worked in post production. I would have liked to see this sensor, updated around the two-year period 2019/2020 mounted on a hypothetical d500s. In my opinion we would have had the best SLR ever and it would have been the right swan song for the digital / mechanical Nikon house and for photography enthusiasts in general.

Pros: Low iso gives you crispy files that you archive almost always without heavy retouching. But the thing I can't explain is that it instills a security, from the first shots, that I have never tried with other machines, from new ones in hand, even at the top level.

Cons: I may have been lucky for once, but the model I have in my hand focuses quite well with the setting I've chosen and I don't throw away many shots, even when the subjects are moving, like planes taking off and landing. Note that I have the pentax mod telephoto. HD 55-300 WR ED and not the ultrasonic plm mounted while I'm writing. So I "against", according to my needs and the expectations I had, in relation to this model... Maybe a Cons: I've been lucky for once, in my life, but the model I have in my hand focuses very well with the setting I've chosen and I don't throw away a shot, not even on moving subjects, such as planes taking off and landing. Note that I have the pentax mod telephoto. HD 55-300 WR ED and not the ultrasonic plm mounted while I'm writing. So I "against", according to my needs and the expectations I had, in relation to this model... Maybe just a trickle of excessive noise when the sunlight goes down or clouds, which is strange: I'll have been lucky for once, in my life, but the model I have in my hand focuses very well with the setting I've chosen and I don't throw away a shot, not even on moving subjects, such as planes taking off and landing. Note that I have the pentax mod telephoto. HD 55-300 WR ED and not the ultrasonic plm mounted while I'm writing. So I "against", according to my needs and the expectations I had, in relation to this model... Excessive digital noise when sunlight causes cloud to disappear or at dusk drops. Up to 1600 iso I honestly expected greater efficiency.

Opinion: I like almost everything about this machine, from the linear menu, not at all brainy, to the materials with which it was assembled. It should not miss much at the exit of a model called K3 III and I will definitely buy it. Of course pentax should have a thread more attention to marketing, maybe insert some new optics, bright between the telomeres, in the range 100-400 mm. maybe, since if you expect them from other producers...

pentax_hd55-300wrPentax DA HD 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR

Pros: tactile sensations and apparently the build quality, starting with true tropicalization. It reproduces colors faithfully and is luminously efficient. Even at 300 mm. doesn't get any worse in a disturbing way.

Cons: It doesn't focus on moving subjects, at all the focal points, which is really disturbing. Autofocus system "antidiluviano" that I fear affects not a little on the quality of photos of moving subjects. UPDATE: After careful testing with various bodies, we found that it was the machine on which it was mounted that had a blatant problem with the focus of moving subjects. Mounted on pentax k3 II the telephoto has done its duty by proving to be efficient beyond reasonable expectation.

Opinion: It fails to focus a medium-sized aircraft (type A321) at less than 35 meters. I've tried them all, really. I give up and change optics (or send it in service). Out of 100 photos you save 10 and you also have to work a lot in post production. An optics that seems allergic to everything that moves in front of you. I'm really disappointed at the moment. UPDATE: It was the machine on which it was mounted that had a self-staring problem. This pentax optics at the end, with all its objective limitations, proves discreet, on the whole.
