![]() | Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Pros: All Cons: Minimum maf distance Opinion: A Sigma DN 85mm f1.4 Art slim that pairs well with Sony ML. The construction and quality of the materials is impeccable, very practical the diaphragms ring that can be used in jerks or continuously, for a faster setting of the opening, instead of acting on the machine. I had the Sony FE 85mm f1.8 that I never liked because in my opinion without character, rather bland and for the portrait I preferred until now the Sigma DG DN 24-70 f2.8 Art. I had tried in the store the Batis 85mm f1.8, but the attachment of the eye AF on the 7rIII was quite difficult so I had given up the gearbox. This Sigma on the contrary has a fast AF, sharpness and excellent resolution already at f1.4, a soft bokeh with perfectly circular light points. In short, a highly recommended lens without flaws that does not regret the purchase. The only small drawback is the minimum distance of maf, about 75cm, which does not make it usable for close-up, too bad, because the blurred is really nice. I do not feel any particular problems with the lens cap. sent on November 04, 2021 |
![]() | Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 Pros: Construction and sharpness Cons: Eye AF difficult in low light Opinion: I have been using the Sony 85mm f1.8 (on A7rIII) for almost a year now. A very valid lens that I find a little soft in TA. I wanted to replace it with the Zeiss Batis 85mm f1.8. In the store I tried the AF eye of this lens, f1.8, normal interior lighting, but the AF eye was very difficult at distances of 4/5 meters, while hooking normally and kept tracking at shorter distances. I thought it was due to the light of the interior, and I mounted the Sony 85mm 1.8. Well, the latter, always at f1.8 immediately hooked the eye at any distance. The shopkeeper could only agree with me. I came home with my Sony. sent on December 10, 2020 |
