![]() | Canon RF 24-105 mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: Versatility, color rendering, satisfactory blur (for a 24-105), overall sharpness, AF speed, tropicalization, stabilization, overall ergonomics. Cons: Price, perhaps the sharpness at wide focal lengths is not on a par with telephoto focal lengths (but I don't have objective data to prove it, the important thing is to take good photos :D). Opinion: It is a perfect all-rounder to take on a trip and to "forget" attached to the camera thanks to the tropicalization and its build quality. I put it to the test in not exactly easy situations (rain and especially dust) and it still looks new. I really appreciate the (all in all) small size, the very versatile focal range and the constant aperture at f/4 which makes it surprisingly usable even in rather low light conditions (thanks to the AF that almost always and quickly gets by even in low light). As for the general performance: in most situations, it returns a very pleasant rendering at full aperture (the blur, unlike some who preceded me, I don't find it bad at all). In my opinion, its greatest strength, together with versatility, is the color rendering. Perhaps its main flaw is that on the surface it can seem almost "boring" and unstimulating (I myself waited more than a year and a half before buying it). In reality, it can really give a lot of satisfaction if you reasonably exploit it within its limits. sent on September 22, 2024 |
