![]() | Canon Adattatore Canon EF/Canon RF Pros: Works perfectly on R7 and R5 with all the EF lenses I've tried Cons: Nobody Opinion: I found myself perfectly, fast and accurate AF on R7 and even more so on R5 even using the 1.4X and 2X teleconverters with EF 300 2.8 IS II, 16-35 F4, EF 100 F 2.8 macro and various other lenses. Lightweight and space-saving. Cheap compared to the Sigma Canon EF to Sony adapter I currently use. On sale for switch to Sony sent on October 27, 2025 |
![]() | Sigma 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS Sport Pros: lightness, size, sharpness, AF speed, accuracy, colour, detachment, ease of use, fairly bright, speed and precision MAF Cons: the limitations imposed by Sony, MAF minimum distance really decidedly limiting. Opinion: I use it in combination with the Sony A1 for wandering hunting in the mountains, both birds and animals: for this type of use it is absolutely priceless for all the features exposed in the pros. The quality is in my opinion excellent, as confirmed by the best foreign and Italian rating sites, including the excellent article by Juza here on the forum. From the point of view of performance I found it clearly superior to the D500 combo with Tamron 150-600 GII (which is still really excellent in many respects as well as abysmally less expensive and still remains a very valid economic choice) and other combos such as R7 and R5 with RF 100-500 and even with the excellent EF 300 2.8 IS II (even more so if with a 1.4 teleconverter, let's not talk about the 2X) that I owned and sold to pay for the new system. Even with the limitation of not being multipliable (but I find that with the freehand multiplier it is rather difficult to obtain quality results), I absolutely recommend it for those who want to stay light without sacrificing quality, really satisfying. It is also decidedly superior optically and in every other respect to the excellent Sony 200-600 that I own and use with satisfaction. I fully agree with Juza's conclusions: "The Sigma 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS Sport combines the quality of professional super-telecommunications that now cost between 10000 and 20000 euros with a unique portability and a much more affordable price. The only criticism I can make of it is the minimum focusing distance which is quite long (as on all fixed super-telephoto cameras); a minimum firing distance of 1.5 or 2 meters would have been a huge help for small subjects." sent on October 15, 2025 |
