![]() | Sony A1 Pros: Autofocus, resolution, more ergonomic handle, reimagined menus Cons: Are there any? Opinion: Previously I had Fuji XT2-XT3-XH1 then Nikon Z7 then Leica Q2-M240-M10 Monochrom and one day I got to try Sony A7RIIIA and it was a great feeling. Sold all the Leica kit and started to have serious fun, then one day at the Sony day in Padua I tried at the A1 and love broke out at first sight. Crazy autofocus and well-balanced resolution to get amazing photos. I combined it with the 24-70 GM and the 100-400 GM and it makes it very well, I also had the 16-35 GM but I did not find myself and I replaced it with the 12-24 GM and I think I have all the focal lengths I need. At the moment the reference point for all the other competitors chasing far back. sent on January 03, 2022 |
![]() | Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS Pros: Low weight, yield Cons: Nobody Opinion: I have recently owned this beautiful lens and I must say that it is fun to use it, maybe it will not be as versatile as the 70-200 f2.8 but it weighs less. Many say that the zoom lock is not there instead there, just move the selector on tight and it no longer stretches with the weight alone or by extracting it from the backpack or bag. I was undecided but in the end I am very happy with the choice made that completes my lens park: 16-35mm f2.8 and 24-70mm f2.8. sent on October 19, 2021 |
![]() | Leica M10 Monochrom Pros: Dynamic range - smaller size than the M246 - Wifi to be able to use the smartphone as a remote control Cons: Nothing Opinion: Those who buy the monochrom know exactly what they are looking for and shoot in black and white with the telemeter is the only lens that arises. I had the M10 and the M246, great cars but in the end I eliminated all the Nikon Z7 kit and also returned the M246 to take the M10 monochrome. What hit me right away? The simplicity of the menus (already seen with the M10 and with the Q2 that remains in my kit) and the dynamic range superior to the previous sister. Combined with the 35 mm summicron to which I gave a yellow filter is a perfect pairing from which to derive incredible satisfaction. Compared to the M246 the wifi allows you to use your smartphone as a remote control, very useful in long poses. From the DNG (powerful) files you can recover from the particular low lights that you do not imagine and even the JPEG is already very pleasant. The yellow filter contrasts to the right point and makes you miss that stop that constitutes a constant to shoot with monochromes. What to say I eliminated the superfluous and now with only one lens and the M10M there is only to have fun.... The Q2 is useful for other types of photos. Good light to all. sent on August 15, 2020 |
![]() | Nikon Z 85mm f/1.8 S Pros: Blurred, size Cons: Nobody Opinion: Taken for a week and I'm falling in love with this goal. Engraved as I like, precise and with an exceptional blurry rendering. It doesn't make me regret the Leica goals I had in the M10 kit. It joins the already excellent 50mm f1.8 and shares its portability, much appreciated in street sessions, and at 24-70mm f2.8. I think we'll do a lot of shots together with this jewel. sent on November 30, 2019 |
![]() | Leica Q2 Pros: Few frills, bright lens, stabilization, size, battery life Cons: Lack of a second slot Opinion: Withdrawn last Saturday in the Leica Store in Bologna. Socket to flank the Nikon Z7 which I use mainly with 35 and 50mm but that has dimensions we say generous. Use What I'll do with Q2: Street. What struck me: 1. The absence of so many frills that I found on many other machines, light menus and few commands well placed 2. The speed AF... Impressive 3. The Luminous Lens 4. The yield in all the conditions of brightness and the tightness at high ISO 5. Battery Life (now that of the SL).... It never runs out, Sunday I was finished and the battery still had a notch. What I do not like: A. The lack of the second slot that makes you feel all right because the RAW files occupy space (of average we are around 80Mb each). Switching from automatic to manual is simple and setting hyperfocal or focus zone and then dedicating itself to the composition is a breeze. Having the personalized menu as the first screen after pressing the button is a gem to which I will hardly give up. There is No button for video shooting but it switches between photos and videos or with the touch screen or by pressing the button in the center of the control Knob. I Think I will never use it since I didn't take it for the videos. We move to crop of 35-50-75 mm by pressing a small key... convenient and the yield at 35 mm is still great (30 Mpx I had not them on XH1), a good 50 mm to 75 mm just to see the pictures on video. I Have to get used to the 28mm, but it is a stimulus to think only of photography and not the rest. What about.... Satisfied and also very much. I Vote 9.5 only for the lack of the second slot. sent on March 26, 2019 |
![]() | Nikon Z7 Pros: Construction solidity, viewfinder, portability Cons: Menu A little unclear, AF not always accurate Opinion: I State that I have this fabulous Friday car so mine are just impressions to skin. I Come from Fuji XH1 where the menus were neat and clear, plus had the possibility of great customizations. I was impressed by the construction of the body and the solidity it transmits without too much burden on the weight and portability. The AF is not always accurate, especially in low light conditions. But They say will be resolved with a firmware update. So Far tested with 24-70 mm in kit and I must say that I do not mind, indeed. I took it with the 35 mm f 1.8 which I'll try as soon as possible. I find myself very well with the ring nuts and also with the custom keys. I Don't really like having to rotate the lens to start shooting.... Solvable in a simple way. Apart from a bit of discomfort and initial disorientation in the management of the menus I'm taking a hand and it convinces me more and more, even though I have never had Nikon before. Update Stressed quite a bit in various street exits... Party with battery charged and I did the whole day without replacing it with about 400-420 shots. Great. For Claudiolm finally after 40 days came the card that was included in the price..... If I had to wait for that to use the car.... To soon other impressions. sent on February 17, 2019 |
