![]() | Genesis BH-40 Pros: Price, weight, stability Cons: clutch Opinion: Bought in kit with C5 stand. Satisfied with the footprint, stability and robustness, when fixed it is "granite" as a seal. However the clutch has never convinced me, the green "wheel" in the clutch is difficult to adjust serves a flat screwdriveer and is too sensitive with half a turn goes from soft to very hard. The clutch despite having several "levels" from 1 to 12 at the end you can only turn 1/4 of a turn so 3 numbers just, but I read that everyone is also satisfied with the clutch so I get the doubt is faulty mine. sent on May 29, 2021 |
![]() | Genesis C5 Pros: Price, lightness, construction quality, interchangeable feet, including bag Cons: The head in the kit is not amazing, lack of leveling Opinion: Bought in kit at 190€ with head and bag almost 2 years ago, used with snow, water, immersed in rivers, used with gusts that moved me... He never moved! At first the lightness made me forestire a lack of stability instead I had to believe again. Using it often in the mountains and on trips I was tempted by the younger brother for the weight, but I do not regret the choice. To use it well you need to make sure that you have the legs well opened, possibly you can hang the backpack on the central body to stabilize it further. Rubber feet can be removed and underneath are iron tips for better stability on slippery-muddy-cloudy terrain. Using it also on the ice I was tempted by replaceable "crampon" feet, costing 50€, but also without remaining stable. It can also be used in a single-seater trim, tried only out of curiosity just arrived but never felt the need to use it in this sense for my photos. The supplied "short" central column was immediately left in a drawer, having the central "normal" column in carbon (with a similar weight) and tipper I never felt the need. Perhaps the only lack compared to other tripods (higher price and higher weight) is the lack of the tilting central column, at first I considered it a great limitation but I confess that in use in 2 years perhaps once I really regretted it; in the end the lower weight saved from this "lack" for my use is irreplaceable. The head in the declared kit for 30kg (in case you have a lead photo machine and Hubble telescope optics) holds my 6Dmk2 with grip battery and optics (15-30 2.8 Tamron, 24-105 4 Canon, 70-300 Tamron), I believe that even with heavier systems and optics you can hardly exceed 7-10 kg; the only defect is the non-easily adjustable clutch and the relative ring with numbers 1 to 10 but usable only on 3 numbers, before and after a useless and unavausable scale. Would I buy it back? Yes. Also because the competition offers nothing comparable for the same price, or you go on 600€ easels or take smaller or heavier easels sent on May 29, 2021 |
