![]() | Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro Pros: Potentially excellent sharpness and brightness Cons: Quality construction (described in the opinion) Opinion: After several readings of reviews and tests and after seeing the pictures it produces, I decided to buy this view in my store. rnAd a price of about € 900 I come home all happy with the idea to try it now with my 7D. rnApro the box and the first impact from an impression of good build quality, nice to see, in short, well-built. RNLA first thing I do is turn the focus to try and about half distance range of maf .... the ring begins to spin! I say nooooo, you can not! I try to use it mounted on the 7D with autofocus, no, stop. At some point, I do not know how, I can think of to loosen the screw of the metal tripod supplied and ..... miracle! the maf finally works as it should in both manual and af. Shake well again the screw, new lenses do not move and the ring idling, shocking, I think. Carry back the lens from my dealer and replace it with a nice Canon 180 Macro because it seems to me a serious defect of designtion, not an isolated case. Tightening the ring apparently deforms the body (plastic) and the lenses are no longer neither forward nor back. I'm not the first to whom it happened, Sigma goodbye. sent on January 03, 2013 |
