nikon_z8Nikon Z8

Pros: All

Cons: Batteries and autofocus in special conditions (see text)

Opinion: Even the undersigned shoots with Nikon for some decades and therefore part ?... F2, F100, D40 D7200 D700 D800 D810 D850 for SLRs and Z6 and now Z8 for mirrorless... I loved them all and all always fit me perfectly and for each of them I found many merits and few defects then came the D850 a perfect machine, in my opinion, useful on every occasion, but mom Nikon has not given up and since the margin of improvement could only be to veer forcefully towards the world Z at that point it launched on the market first Z9 and then Z8. Z8 is an excellent machine that is not free from defects even if it touches perfection ... One of these is given by the batteries that have a somewhat short duration and force you not to use the convenient communication options with other open devices slowing down the workflow a little (unless you have the possibility to connect it to the mains) but with a software or hardware update you can buffer. The autofocus compared to what Nikon has proposed to us until the appearance of the Z9 that has given a focusing system with artificial intelligence really level ... Excellent tracking of the subject and eyes (although every now and then "barella" a little if there are movements too sudden improved via software) even in low light conditions, almost magical. For the rest there is little to say the machine has improved and speeded up the workflow, allows me to spend less time in posts and to have a reliable means for any type of work from portrait to sport to ceremonies to travel! My car today 24/08/23 left for a small trip to LTR to remedy the defect of the poorly fixed hooks (in a month of use I did not notice any problem but the risk is not worth the candle ...) and we hope that the 4-day estimate for the return are real ... I will update you on this. Update the machine returned to me from LTR assistance today 29/08/2023 so 2 working days of work and 2 of travel!!

fujifilm_16-80_f4wrFujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR

Pros: Weight, Ois, WR, Sharpness Focus Excursion

Cons: Ordinary building material of the Lamplight

Opinion: After a weekend of tests on 16-80 f 4 I can give a first judgment and I would say that it works well I have to take the hand at the ois (I have never had any goals with this system since I have always had fixed and that Nikon VR works differently...) and understand when I have to use one setting and when the other but overall I would say well the lens is very light balanced as few you do not feel it even after several hours of work around the city equipped on XT2 without BG... I took some photos in different situations and has always behaved in line with my expectations, surely it is not the optics that makes you cry out to the miracle but not even a zoom that passes in anonymity. One of the things that really surprised me is its OIS 6 stop system less!!!! on static (logical) subjects I managed to shoot at 1/4 by releasing images without micro moved!!!! its AF combined with the XT2 without the boot of the BG is really effective (100 times faster than that of the 56 F1.2 in line with that of the 35 f2) I found every shot from 16 to 80 mm even if from 35 mm up is a blade. F4 is for many a bit dark but if you do not want to use it to take pictures of athletes in the middle of the night and similar things is fine for most situations its blurry is pleasant without artifacts. It's WR ... not essential but to use it is a nice thing I look to test it further during holidays and trips where the moment is fleeting. let's see what comes out. A really performing all I would say money well spent
