![]() | Yashica ML 50mm f/1.4 Pros: Robust, crisp, smooth focus ring, 8 blades, creamy bokeh at short distances Cons: AVERAGE CA, cartoon, average flare. Opinion: It's the second I buy. The first is a first edition with rubber focus with oblique and non-orthogonal knurling but with the same optics as the second version. Very sharp already at 1.4 with less contrast than the other openings. From f2 comes the contrast and from them breaks the hair... a razor. The focus is fluid and turns 180 degrees. Its 8 blades help in the closing phase to maintain a pleasant bokeh even closing. Vignetting chromatic aberrations and flares are average as well as barrel distortion. Listed as good and flawed, it's just great and not the neckline from my sony a7ii since I bought it. A must! sent on December 08, 2020 |
![]() | Nikon 50mm f/2 Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, fluid ring nuts and solidity. Cons: Nobody Opinion: Resistant to flare sufficiently compared to other vintage lenses, but better match it to a lens hood. For the rest the sum of the pros makes this objective an excellent compromise of result compared to the current cost of the used (a 50ina €). Mine was my father's and we owned it from the early ' 70. Really deserves a top rating. Needless to spend on modern optics when you have in your home a product of this type. I matched it to a viltrox speedbooster to bring it to f 1.4 35mm. Sharp at all focal lengths... what else to add? sent on November 19, 2018 |
