Opinion: Great lens for full frame, APS-C... Y've got one since 1983. I used it first with a Contax RTS II, I have abandoned it too many years long (using compact camera with zoom), and at least I rediscover it with a digital camera with interchangeable lens. It is both very sharp and very soft. Perfect for landscape, portraits, black and white, colour, street photography... It can do everything!

Opinion: Bought used a few months ago on Ebay at 60 euros (shipping included) and adapted on my Eos 2000D before, and 70D after with a simple adapter ring found at 8 euros. I fell in love with it immediately, super bright, fantastic blurred, in general excellent performance. You need to have a minimum of experience with 100% manual lenses, it is definitely not made for fleeting shots, but for static subjects it is perfect, in particular I tried it on APS-C and in portraits it is phenomenal. The sharpness is good, although it is not its best quality, especially at f/1.4 where there is also some vignetting. Warm and fairly saturated colors, it suffers a bit from chromatic aberration in difficult light conditions. Minimum focus distance of 50cm, in line with most similar lenses, focus ring of about 180 °, a good compromise between speed and precision, aperture ring with apertures from 1.4 to 16 with clicks a little metallic but quite fluid. In general a great lens to take absolutely if found on 50 euros or below.

Pros: Robust, crisp, smooth focus ring, 8 blades, creamy bokeh at short distances

Very sharp already at 1.4 with less contrast than the other openings. From f2 comes the contrast and from them breaks the hair... a razor. The focus is fluid and turns 180 degrees. Its 8 blades help in the closing phase to maintain a pleasant bokeh even closing. Vignetting chromatic aberrations and flares are average as well as barrel distortion. Listed as good and flawed, it's just great and not the neckline from my sony a7ii since I bought it. A must!
