![]() | Hasselblad XCD 45mm f/4 Pros: A great optic, indeed, and for a low price for what it's worth! Cons: Gossip and murmuring from detractors Opinion: Used on X1D II 50C I was surprised by the quality of this jewel: ability to transmit color and resolution: impressive! Equivalent to a 35mm in FF I often keep it in my pocket, given the minimal footprint (a medium format pocket system! Unbelievable !) Given the richness of detail useful as a narrow wide angle and with crops as medium tele, therefore in the end very versatile sent on January 17, 2025 |
![]() | Fujifilm GF 1.4x TC WR Pros: One does not take pride in the difference with or without... Cons: ... or maybe it is... Opinion: I don't notice the difference, the multiplier is excellent. Not cheap but proportionate to the set. Mounted on the GF 500mm and 100s the result is a focal length equivalent to 550 mm in 24x36mm fullframe format. It allowed me to take photographic hunting shots where with a similar Canon I was awkward due to bulk, the Fuji combination is also very light. Cropping is a revelation... sent on December 11, 2024 |
![]() | Fujifilm GF 500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR Pros: Amazing sharpness in all situations, and in medium format; lightness and compactness for the focal length, especially multiplied; low price compared to the same performance of the competition. Cons: - Opinion: Since I got it, for long focal lengths I'm only using this lens on 100s: remote macro, photo hunting, etc. (the 100s doesn't do badly at all, upgrade to 100s ii perhaps useless, we'll wait for 100s iii, if anything...) instant focus, effective stabilization, tropicalization. I go out light and without worrying about the weather... possibility of implausible cropping. sent on August 25, 2024 |
![]() | Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4 Pros: Extreme sharpness, no distortion, color rendering, precise and fast autofocus. Cons: Nothing Opinion: Taken used for the X1D II 50C, with this one it has a color rendering unattainable by all other brands. Extreme sharpness, no distortion, precise and fast autofocus. The files are extraordinary as a detail even at the edges. The price is commensurate with the performance, it's an outstanding lens. If one day they made a 12mm.... sent on April 24, 2024 |
![]() | Wimberley WH-200 Pros: Very robust (forgiving you even more than a few blows received), very fluid movements Cons: Price, size (but that's the design that works) Opinion: Socket for the Feisol CT-3372L M2 tripod to try to replace the FEISOL CB-70D ball head for heavy lenses: pleasant surprise in verifying the extreme lightness in mobility (if the system is balanced on the center of gravity). It's like maneuvering a feather. And quickly. Not even to be compared to the ball head, excellent purchase. I also use it for macros with focus stacking by turning the lens ring instead of using the hotshoe. sent on March 06, 2024 |
![]() | Hasselblad X1D II 50C Pros: The sensor, the colors (there's none for any), the dynamic range, even amazing jpeg files. Cons: It's not a camera for hunting, but you know, so what is the con? Opinion: Scandinavian design with excellent ergonomics and ease of use, indistinguishable for the quality of the images produced, not even my Fuji 100s... very good optics, the best adapted Canon (or e.g. Zeiss for Canon) give very good results. The adapted optics of the V and H systems are also good. Focusing with X-series lenses is lightning-fast and precise. If someone expects something that hasn't even been stated or promised, they will be disappointed. Personally, I am the happy owner of it. sent on February 26, 2024 |
![]() | Fujifilm GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR Pros: Sharpness, autofocus speed, total absence of distortion (really) and chromatic aberration, solid construction, tropicalization that works! Low weight and dimensions per MF, cost used Cons: - Opinion: Taken used for the Fuji gfx100s, I could not believe my eyes when I saw the corners of the image : no distortion ! It is written for many wide angles but this proves it in reality: incredible! The sharpness is adequate to the camera body (we would miss ...), really crazy for a wide angle ... Nothing to say about colors, terrific image data recovery (what you recover from underexposed files is incredible), it became my lens for landscapes and interiors, despite having excellent ones. At first I was undecided about the alternative Hasselblad XCD 4/21 for my X1D II 50C, but... I'm glad I chose this, rated 10. sent on December 16, 2022 |
![]() | Panasonic FZ80 / FZ82 Pros: Lightweight, focal range Cons: Painful files, when compared with semipro or pro machines Opinion: Taken on Amazon for the weight and focal excursion, I told myself that some shots will also take home .... croppare not even for a dream and the files brought home are painful, except for exceptions of shots taken at high brightness ... and not at long focal lengths.. excessive noise at high iso, a disaster. In short, after the one-day trial I put it back on sale, who wants it? sent on March 20, 2022 |
![]() | Zeiss Jena DDR Flektogon 35mm f/2.4 MC Pros: Sharpness, color, focal, no distortion Cons: No AF, no stabilization (and who cares?) Opinion: Taken on ebay at 175 Euros : it stunned me ! Mounted on Canon (6D and 5DSr) : extreme sharpness at f8, the colors are there all, no distortion, very pleasant nuance. Nb. Reversed is better than the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM Macro. Crazy! (see my examples in objective test gallery) Really, I wouldn't have expected similar performance (and I have an Otus and two Zeiss classics: 15 and 135). I'm not going to give it up! sent on April 07, 2020 |
![]() | Zeiss ZE/ZF.2 Apo Sonnar T* 135mm f/2 Pros: Stunning! A scalpel! Sharpness out of the common parameters, real color rendition, for those who love the background blur: a cream. No kind of disturbance or distortion, very precise fire ring, sliding but not sled: a real, massive jewel! Cons: As far as I am concerned: Requires 6d machine switching to 5DSR and purchase Zacuto Pro 3x Viewfinder! Opinion: The dream for years... Arrived today, November 5, 2018 (now it is difficult to find new, 2 orders, two refunds for supplier left without... The third is gone). It makes an impression already as object: really massive and built according to perfect Deutsche Optische technologie, even if Made in Japan. Proven, alas I will have to change machine, since I love pushing the equipment to the limit... and for precise focus closer will need a zacuto 3x viewfinder. Proven with Kenko Pro 300 DGX 1.4 x multiplier and I find myself a monstrous 189 mm! The Blur is noted, the shots freehand will be reduced in number, no matter... With the extension tubes, even cascading, the macro images are impressive. Reduced depth of field? So what? Program stacking shots Helicon Focus Pro: And it snaps to maximum sharpness, at ISO 100-F 4. Extension Warranty (as if needed...) on Zeiss website. The Mercedes of DSRL lenses? No. The Bugatti. sent on November 05, 2018 |
![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Pros: Price, size, striking sharpness, brightness, speed, fine manual focus, magnificent STM AF fluid for video Cons: Just a little slow AF in quick shots, but on the other hand great for video. Opinion: A real surprise! Taken because it remained without focal (sold Canon EF 24-70mm F/4 L IS USM). Amazing shots at 1/4000 sec. At 200 ISO... though! Honor to the producer. Do not weep if you harm it; Taken anyway, to merit, filters protector, polarizer and UV/IR Schneider (and believe me, cost more than the lens itself!). That you always have with you! sent on November 01, 2018 |
![]() | Kenko Pro 300 DGX 1.4x Pros: Construction. AF and stabilizer unchanged. Sharpness unchanged. Price. Cons: Must there be a counter? Opinion: Between Canon 6d and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM: Sturdy, not wobs at all as some say, immediate AF, stabilizer OK. Sharpness unchanged. So how not to have it, just that you find yourself with a 1.40 mm x. On fixed optics from 50 mm up and on the zoom from 24 mm up where Canon Extender is not compatible. I forgot: Price half of the Canon extenders. I can't wait to try it on Zeiss ZE Apo sonnar T * 135mm F/2. P.S. tried: A 189 mm monstrous! sent on June 04, 2018 |
![]() | Manfrotto 058B Pros: Precision, solidity, stability, incredible positioning speed thanks to the mechanism provided Cons: Weight and size for outdoor "extreme" Opinion: With manfrotto rack head 410, novoflex slide and helicon focus program (focus stacking = shots at different focal lengths are assembled by the program in a single image in focus) the static macro is wonderful! Reason for which I had purchased it (photos on cactus site that I produced and sold). And of course professional studio tripod. rnCon backpack all in all the weight is acceptable, if the path is not very rough, in positioning speed beats those "light" sent on January 12, 2018 |
