samyang_af35_f1-8feSamyang FE 35mm f/1.8 AF

Pros: Price, Lightweight, AF

Cons: Materials, edge sharpness very bad at TA

Opinion: I bought this lens driven by the countless positive reviews and rationally if we make it a question of ratio / price it is not to be thrown away, however I would avoid comparisons with competitors of the same focal length but of another range. What made me realize the bad sharpness at the edges and that actually prompted me to sell it was during a prenatal shoot in which I wanted to focus on a carabinieri car on the edge of the photo and blur the subjects in the background... IT WASN'T POSSIBLE! I still didn't understand and that's why I did some tests on tripods afterwards to confirm it. I initially thought it was a focus issue, but it's actually a sharpness issue. In the center the sharpness is ok but to have sharpness at the edges you need to close to f8. In short, as much as I appreciate samyang for its pancake line, I don't feel like suggesting it. The autofocus is fast and works very well, in the center it is fine, it is light and in a street exit it becomes comfortable, today I fell back on its 45mm analog which satisfies me more. tamron_70-180_f2-8iiiTamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD

Pros: SHARPNESS - AF SPEED - PORTABILITY - QUALITY/PRICE RATIO

Cons: UNABLE TO ADD MULTIPLIERS - EXTERNAL ZOOM - NO AF/MF BUTTON

Opinion: I bought this lens on the advice of a friend on the forum and enticed by the amazon offer (944 €). I was very torn as I was in love with the format 70/200 2.8 home Sony (clearly another lens that is worth its cost but is not 3 times better than tamron....). To date I say that it is a spectacular purchase for yield, definition (I use it on a7riii) autofocus even in low light situations, practicality in size and in carrying it behind. I often go out with 17/28 tamron and 70/180 and I don't have big shortcomings. In my opinion the main "defect" lies in the impossibility of using multipliers, in the absence of the physical mf button and in the aesthetic aspect that does not make me crazy ... Would recommend? absolutely YOU !!! PS I made a comparison with the 70-300 tamron vr sony-a and despite the 70/180 has less excursion the quality for the same effective size using digital crop of a high-resolution camera is much better on the 70-180. The 70-300 at 300mm kneads everything and is therefore less usable.

sony_fe70-200f2-8gm_iiSony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II

Pros: AUTOFOCUS - SHARPNESS - WEIGHT - GENERAL QUALITY

Cons: COST...

Opinion: Objective that I would call simply SPECTACULAR .. With my Sony a7rIII + L Smallrig bracket everything is balanced and you can shoot safely with one hand (obviously it is not the position to prefer ..). Already at full aperture the sharpness is impressive and the autofocus does not miss a beat with Eyes track on the model (I tried the lens mainly for portrait), you can control from my shots on the site. Chromatic aberration absent as is normal for a lens of this category, pasty and circular Bokeh that detaches the subject from the background and enhances it. The only drawback for non-professionals is its cost...
