![]() | Nikon AF 70-210mm f/4 Pros: Price, yield, blur, 3D, colors, minimum focus distance Cons: Don't have it Opinion: I wanted a canvas zoom for a long time and was oriented on the Tamron 70-300 but without too much conviction. Reading the opinions of others who preferred this 70-210 f4, I decided to give him a chance. After some hunting time, this specimen happened on the bay with conditions incredulously close to those of the new, despite the years. For those who have no experience with canvases, it should first be learned to use, after which it offers respectable performance in every respect. Colors, blurry and especially 3D are its points of excellence, but also sharpness and precision are remarkable, albeit with a rather dense sensor like that of the D7200. It was the 3D that has already been detected by others that has been the aspect that has inspired me to try it out. Also worth bearing in mind is the ability to bring the subject closer than other comparable focal lenses. The autofocus does not seem as slow as others say and from 2.5-3 meters to infinity, or from the minimum focus distance at 2.5-3 meters I would define it rather fast, also depending on the internal engine of the machine. It is clear already at full open and despite this allows to close the diaphragm a lot, even at f16 and more, when the light conditions allow it. Above all, I did not notice the scrambling for the hooking of the fire described by others. It seems to me indeed a harpoon, which when he took it does not give up anymore. At least on the D7200. The zoom dial is very fluid and more generally the experience of use is positive because of the metal body and the weight lower than that of more modern lenses. Reading that it absolutely needs the lampshade, I took a similar one to the original but it did not seem to make all this difference. Then I used it as a support for an extension that I made with black bristol cardboard, 15in in length, the maximum possible not to cause vignette on APS-C even at the minimum focal. With its use the music has changed totally and I was able to appreciate performances that I previously would not have dreamed of. If it is already valid to the natural, although suffering from special light conditions, so equipped becomes an optic more than recommendable, generously exceeding the limits that would be considered proportionate to its current selling price. Personally, I find it hard to blame a lens like this for the absence of the stabiliser, because at the time of its release it was about things beyond that. A little difficult to find, especially in impeccable conditions, perhaps also because the few who have one do not willingly separate. If you want a zoom not too expensive I think it is impossible to have better. Very suitable for portraits from afar, especially for the naturalness of the non-professional subject, which is not intimidated by the proximity of the photographer and the lens. sent on December 14, 2019 |
![]() | Sigma 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 DC OS HSM Pros: Sharpness, versatility, beautiful colors, price content, well detailed and contrasted but with open shadows, bokeh, AF fast, effective stabilizer Cons: stabilizing problems Opinion: This is the first lens I bought, used, based on the impressions of other users put online in this space. After two years of employment, I can say that I know you well. I first detected an image quality that has nothing to do with kit lenses, despite the low price. Great sharpness and even a nice bokeh, if it fits up close to the longer focal points. Also valid is 3D, especially in landscape shots in the long field. These are things that you wouldn't look at in a low cost goal, which is also well built. Moreover, its best features remain largely unchanged even at TA. If the data on the paper gives the idea of a dark goal, in practice it does not differ much from specimens with more convincing numbers, but then force to close the diaphragm for decent performance. The thing that struck me the most is the beauty of the warm colors, especially on machines with CCD sensor like the D80, with which it produces ready-made shots that do not need PP. With the D7200, however, it highlights the cool connotation of the machine, typical of the C-MOS. I believe that this element reflects the neutrality of the lens, a prerogative rare at any price level. Some have spoken of problems with the stabilizer, which have also affected the specimen in my possession. At one point he highlighted a kind of shot in the rotation of the zoom dial, which corresponded to a jump of the image observed in the crosshairs. It had become essentially unusable. However, it was enough to replace the stabilizer saucer, taken at 3 euros on the bay, plus another 40 for the intevent of the phototechnical laboratory including cleaning. The stabilizer also stays on about 1 minute from the time the machine is turned on, even if its switch is on off. Ultimately it is a valid and versatile goal, although generally undervalued, that allows you to go out without other lenses in tow not imposing noticeable penalties on the image quality. Recommended for those who want a clear and valid all-round lens, without spending large sums. At the price of which today are found specimens in good condition you can not ask for more. sent on October 31, 2019 |
![]() | Nikon AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6D Pros: Ridiculous cost, versatility, excellent performance, lightness, AF very fast. Cons: None, not only at this price but even if it cost much more. Opinion: Taken on the bay for a ridiculous figure, it has an astonishing rendition. With the D80 is an excellent combination, which allows you to have fun and practice with an expense accessible to anyone. Factor this that I consider essential, in times when if you do not present with the FF by Hermanastra Megapizze and the lens signed Bulgari make you feel a bum. Excellent colors and well saturated, sharp and definite, is a lens that finds its place in every outfit, to be used whenever you do not want to have the worry of ruining more expensive lenses but not only. It deserves a lens hood, with which it improves further. The risk is to pay it more than the lens itself. sent on April 27, 2019 |
![]() | Nikon D80 Pros: CCD, handling, internal motor, double time-opening, yield with vintage lenses, double display, negligible cost on the used market Cons: High ISO Opinion: Socket used on Juza market over a year ago, so I can say I know her well. The CCD has a rendering impossible to find on the C-Mos sensors, especially as regards the color palette. That's why when I took the D 7200 on the first I was puzzled, despite the superiority of its characteristics. In every point of view. But always and only on the numerical level: when you pass to the observation of the files, those products with good light show the substantial diversity of the D80 but not for this they decree the inferiority. Their naturalness indeed makes them sometimes prefer. If you then mount the right lens things get even better: I bought recently a Sigma 30 EX 1.4 old that while on D7200 is fine but without any particular exploits, with the D80 form a combination of excellence. Looking at the files so produced is inevitable to wonder what they serve more modern machines and what is in practical terms the enormous progress that is attributed to them. This also makes us understand that beyond the prerogatives of every single machine and objective, what is obtained from their pairing is not only given by the arshyetic sum of the parties involved, but in some cases you can have results that go beyond what we speci Would consider each of them individually. The opening of 1.4 allows you not to climb too much with the ISO even with poor lighting. Another very interesting aspect of D80 is the ability to match with vintage lenses, such as the Nikon 28-80 D. Apart from the very fast autofocus, even with that you have excellent photographic results, for a ridiculous price. A coupled of the genre is put together with less than 200 euros, which makes it in my opinion the D80 more advisable than any current entry level. Also because of the double-ring controls for times and diaphragm and the presence of the internal motor, which allows to operate with any AF lens, even those without its own engine. For that figure, indeed, if you buy wisely we run out even a discreet flashetto, which allows to circumvent in large part the limits of the machine at high ISO, which are particularly highlighted with low light and at night without a tripod, while Day even by shooting at 1600 ISO you will not notice noise problems. sent on November 19, 2018 |
![]() | Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM Pros: Construction, brightness, sharpness, beautiful blurred, price content, bag supplied. Cons: On Nikon D 7200 does not work automatic deactivation for viewfinder indications, you must press the shutter button lightly. Opinion: On the advice of other frequenters of the site I took this lens, buying it at one of the usual banned sites. For 220 euros I think it's impossible to ask for more. Great sharpness, on Nikon D 7200, from which in fact I have no longer disassembled. Besides my specimen has no problems locking the lens hood, after a few months of daily use, and even the cap does not seem as bad as others say. Now that I'm used to it, I seem strange to those of other lenses. I find it very sharp already at 2.8. When checking the accuracy of the focus performed with the machine mounted on a tripod, the specimen in my possession has been shown to be free from F/b focus. At the minor focal length, framing with the viewfinder you have an impression more from fish-eye than we put to the 18-125 OS Sigma in my possession, compared to which for the rest there is not exactly comparison. The focus, if done pointing to an object that has a minimum of contrast, as recommended by the camera manufacturers, is done in a way I would say impeccable. In short, for the price that you pay offers features in my opinion surprising and therefore should be taken without delay. Returning to this page after some time, I find a series of negative impressions about faults that I have never personally found on my specimen, bought again. Someone even speaks of its use with adapters and in this regard I wonder how you can think of obtaining indications of some likelihood in such conditions. sent on May 25, 2018 |
