Pros: All. Especially design, overall solidity and unique color rendition.

Cons: Nothing.

Opinion: Terrible power. Universal soldier. I tell you that these are the 'Top Three' from Nikon AF`s, equivalent and complementary: 50 f/1.8 MKI (1986-1990); 35-70 f/3.3-4.5 MKI (1986-1989) and 70-210 f/4 (1986-1987, 8 months only). As if from one series. Paradoxically low price and low popularity for the TOP. Really Out-of-Time!! Having all this, you can feel absolute satisfaction. ;] And no more need anything.

Pros: Price, yield, blur, 3D, colors, minimum focus distance

Cons: Don't have it

Opinion: I wanted a canvas zoom for a long time and was oriented on the Tamron 70-300 but without too much conviction. Reading the opinions of others who preferred this 70-210 f4, I decided to give him a chance. After some hunting time, this specimen happened on the bay with conditions incredulously close to those of the new, despite the years. For those who have no experience with canvases, it should first be learned to use, after which it offers respectable performance in every respect. Colors, blurry and especially 3D are its points of excellence, but also sharpness and precision are remarkable, albeit with a rather dense sensor like that of the D7200. It was the 3D that has already been detected by others that has been the aspect that has inspired me to try it out. Also worth bearing in mind is the ability to bring the subject closer than other comparable focal lenses. The autofocus does not seem as slow as others say and from 2.5-3 meters to infinity, or from the minimum focus distance at 2.5-3 meters I would define it rather fast, also depending on the internal engine of the machine. It is clear already at full open and despite this allows to close the diaphragm a lot, even at f16 and more, when the light conditions allow it. Above all, I did not notice the scrambling for the hooking of the fire described by others. It seems to me indeed a harpoon, which when he took it does not give up anymore. At least on the D7200. The zoom dial is very fluid and more generally the experience of use is positive because of the metal body and the weight lower than that of more modern lenses. Reading that it absolutely needs the lampshade, I took a similar one to the original but it did not seem to make all this difference. Then I used it as a support for an extension that I made with black bristol cardboard, 15in in length, the maximum possible not to cause vignette on APS-C even at the minimum focal. With its use the music has changed totally and I was able to appreciate performances that I previously would not have dreamed of. If it is already valid to the natural, although suffering from special light conditions, so equipped becomes an optic more than recommendable, generously exceeding the limits that would be considered proportionate to its current selling price. Personally, I find it hard to blame a lens like this for the absence of the stabiliser, because at the time of its release it was about things beyond that. A little difficult to find, especially in impeccable conditions, perhaps also because the few who have one do not willingly separate. If you want a zoom not too expensive I think it is impossible to have better. Very suitable for portraits from afar, especially for the naturalness of the non-professional subject, which is not intimidated by the proximity of the photographer and the lens.

Pros: Yield, blurry, lighter and more compact than older brother 2.8. Price.

Cons: Primitive AF, if it loses the hook ingether of the fire begins to scramble back and forth.

Opinion: Economic optics but spectacular yield. Gorgeous colors, blurred properly, I used it with the D700 for portraits, a wonder. AF discreet don't expect a missile :-) I recommend it for those who want a canvas handyman and not: its compactness is an advantage over the 2.8 monsters that weigh and cost much more... For the sporting genre look elsewhere.

Pros: Build quality and cost of the used, does its job honestly

Cons: Chromatic aberration to F4 sometimes very present and difficult to remove

Opinion: Bought used many many months ago , I use it on a D90 and after months spent trying it and doing some tests I realized that : Af not so slow , indeed ... does not reach the speed of the Afs but it is not so bad, and cmq is more accurate than other AF-s Nikon i have. Doing some tests I realized that it is more defined than the 16-85 dx that I have and also to the 85 af-s 1.8 for the same diaphragm . I have not tried it compared to the 80-200 2.8 AF that we have in the house . Cost , performance in my opinion unparalleled ... It doesn't have VR ... sure it's 1986, but it's an F4 ... just speed up the :)

Pros: Lightness, Practita. Great Af for a vintagr

Cons: Almost no one for the price used as vintage (maybe more sharpness)

Opinion: Lens from the Practita everyone other than other times: read it for a zoom up to 200 F4 constant, blurred more than good, does not lengthen zooming, and contrariamenre to what many say L AF and rather fast to be ' prehistoric ' (I have new ones no quicker). The The AF ring is very smooth and that of the focal soft. It should be used with the lens hood HN-24 (in the case of FF that I own) to avoid excessive flares and foaks. The colors are not as hot as the regret 35-70 2.8 D which I had but good. The resolve is more than good. In summary, for those who need a 70-200 or similar is an excellent starting point without spending several hundred euros and at the same time avoid variable-aperture zoomons that Jon are worth. Around the 150 euros you will grab a nice toy that will give you satisfaction and excellent practice
