![]() | Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Pros: Price, image quality Cons: 95mm filters, "focus distance" number limited to 825m Opinion: The image quality for photos in the distant mountains is limited only by atmospheric turbulence (I use preferably the F/6.3 diaphragm, even with other lenses, my preferred diaphragm is between F/4 and F/6.3, to limit the diffraction ), so with the summer heat it is difficult to use over 300mm. unless they soar a lot in the early morning. In the summer I will use the Sony FE 70-300, which is also lighter. In winter this 200-600mm goes much better with the cooler atmosphere, but you have to avoid taking photos in the direction of heated buildings (Baites or groups of houses, even if they are a bit far away, "move" the atmosphere and spoil the photos ). I would have preferred to have the drop filters in the back as on the supertele, but I found a good 95mm polarizer. (paid 190 euros ) which I use for haze reduction when sunlight arrives with the right inclination. This is the best telephoto in my possession. Small defect : number "focus distance" limited to 825m, I did the calculations, the missing numbers that should appear on the electronic viewfinder of the Sony series A7R2 and later are : 1031 – 1375 – 2064 – 4135 - infinity. I'm waiting for a new firmware with the fix, the missing numbers. That's why I opened a forum with the title "Manual focus with Sony A7 series cameras". sent on January 23, 2020 |
