Pros: Lightness, file size, iso tightness, body strength and many others

Cons: Moiré effect, white balance (in Av), overheating in video

Opinion: I have been using 3 Canon Eos R6 bodies professionally since 2021 in the wedding industry, but I have also used them in landscaping, birdlife and travel reportage. Coming from 5dmk3, 5dmk4 and Eos R the step was huge, 3 points on everything: the weight, the file and the af. These points for me were the turning point that made me stay faithful to the brand that had fallen far behind in the mirrorless department. I love the files of the R6 both for the dynamic range, for the iso hold and above all for the lightness of the files (I always use the Craw). The AF is also excellent even if in some situations with distant subjects the tracking is not the best. The 20 megapixel file for me is perfect for events but also for the other photographic genres I practice, I have never felt the need to have more megapixels as I had on 5d4 and R. Excellent battery life as far as I am concerned with the necessary settings for energy saving and shooting mainly from the display. Coming to the few defects because this is what it is, what I found most annoying is the white balance shooting in Av and autoiso, clearly shooting in raw is a non-problem but having shots of the same scene with different Wb is annoying. Photographing events then it happens to portray people with clothes that have dense textures and the moiré effect is always around the corner despite the antialiasing filter forcing me to selectively remove it in post. Another sore point of the R6 is especially for those who make videos in 4k 60fps where they will most likely incur overheating warnings or in the worst case even when the camera is turned off, I make few videos and I have only seen the warning without the camera turning off. Coming to the conclusions I think that the R6 is one of the best cameras for value for money in the Canon price list, I have recently upgraded to R6mk2 and I hope they have solved those small problems of youth by improving on other fronts as well.
