Dal punto di vista compositivo avrei personalmente provato il taglio verticale, per vedere dim limitare la "caduta" laterale degli alberi sullo sfondo, dovuto al grandangolo spinto; oppure, con taglio orizzontale avrei drasticamente tagliato gli alberi sullo sfondo limitandomi al solo riflesso in acqua, davvero magnifico. Questo per dirti che hai trovato un soggetto interessantissimo e molto stimolante per la sperimentazione! 
Mi permetto di farti un'ultima osservazione: qui l'effetto del filtro GND appare un po' troppo evidente, con uno sfondo troppo "plumbeo" rispetto al primo piano molto chiaro... Un cielo più chiaro (visto che era piatto) avrebbe reso lo scatto ancora più naturale...
Con questo non intendo dire che il lavoro non sia buono: tutt'altro! Mi piace a tal punto che mi sono immedesimato nel fotografo e ho dato sfogo un po' alla mia creatività!

In effetti avevo montato un filtro da 1 stop. L'effetto cielo plumbeo l'ho ricreato in post, ho chiuso un po' i neri con i livelli sul cielo...
