Io non ho mai utilizzato dei filtri per proteggere la lente posteriore, nel "rear lens mount protection" se non ci avviti un filtro a chiudere la parte terminale dell'obiettivo, proteggerà ben poco; inoltre avere più roba davanti la lente riduce la distanza minima di messa a fuoco, in questi casi ogni mm è prezioso. Ovviamente dovrai starci attento e sperare che nessun ragnetto ti si infili nell'obiettivo 
All'inizio per fare pratica puoi utilizzarlo invertito a 50-55mm con diaframma aperto, in questo modo il mirino sarà più luminoso e la distanza di maf più ampia e facilmente gestibile (se ricordo bene oltre i 12 cm), poi quando avrai imparato a beccare il fuoco a 50mm (che offre un r.r. di circa 1x) potrai aumentare l'ingrandimento usando i 30-35 mm, successivamente i 24mm ecc.. è tutta questione di allenamento quindi non demordere, ti consiglio di partire con oggetti statici o insetti che riposano perché i jumpers sono indemoniati!
