india terrible!!!!!! sent on December 17, 2011 (22:25) by Memy. 43 comments, 2852 views.

at 260mm, 1/40 f/5.6, ISO 200,

My words absurd, but the shot is successful, a special effect that has a considerable artistic side despite the drama of what has immortalized.

In India you can still find people with leprosy, leprosy was certainly not piottosto the acid the cause of the horrible disfigurement of this woman?

Hello Viaggiatorenotturno

It was an idea of ??shooting a long time and I thought that to have any meaning, it required a situation with a certain drama: of course I did not think so! It 'a unique attempt, made at the end when I started to recover and I think it's more effective to express the' horror of the other more canonical.

Leprosy 's I've seen several times, and certainly in this case, there' nothing came.

This woman always think stations In the vicinity of this temple and should not be impossbile trace: I'd like to find a way to raise awareness of an 'association of doctors to see if they can help .....

Hello Memy if you want, try contacting Smileagain non-profit organization. It is based in Rome.
As for the photos, does not need to comment and do not even think about it is "right" to comment on a photo that speaks dramatically to only because, even if only for a moment, you might forget how much suffering behind it. It 'a terrible document, you were right to suggest it.

Thank you for the suggestion Fladane,
definitely will contact the non-profit organization.

As for the comment on photos, you understand, but I also think there is senzsa that this detracts minimally suffering .....

Hello Bosphorus and C.Salari

It 'an abominable practice of which I had heard and read many times before his eyes but being a victim with half his face worn and still the bandages on his hands ...... is the 'effect of a punch in the stomach ..

Excellent shot!
I think it is right to tell the world such atrocities, even if it often happens that humans turn around the other side ...
I too, in my small way, I try to make people aware with the images that I collect in my travels and I am happy when I can get the attention of one person!
But it is difficult, and the world, the world that we created, swirls pull without giving us plenty of time to think!

Photo: the perfect choice of b / w on p. Dramatizes more a document that already starting guess he did not not need to be modified to achieve the intended purpose.
Congratulations on the decision you press your index finger on the shutter button and the decision to publish the document.

Currently: no comment.
Indeed, one comment. Beyond the respect and consideration of more or less well placed that you have a people (and this applies to all people, whether they are the first, second or third world), I believe that there are aspects that can not fit in the habits and traditions, rituals or even if they are rooted.
These are real crimes against the person, as well as the dignity. I do not think it is right to consider simply as "contradiction" of such an act. I do not mean absolutely up to you, since you used the term, indeed, but in certain media or opinion leaders that I've heard called "contradiction" the act in question, or other mutilation, witchre even more intimate.
This is not culture or tradition, this is a crime.
I've seen some behavior in some countries very close to us to make us reconsider the idea of ??civilization in a society of the world has only the rank, or agezie AA rating.
Hope I have not bored beyond measure.

Congratulations again to you for the choice, which meant that at least one photography forums if you talked about it.

Greetings
Lorenzo

Thanks Freegeppi, Eru and Lorenzo

As I've said to me the Indians are fabulous people I fall in love more and more every time I go there and perquesto that I 'm looking forward to going back.
This of course does not mean girarecon the ham slices on the eyes and does not exclude the fact that there are problems and ugliness absolutely not acceptable.
The first documented case of assault with acid dates back to 1967 when a young woman was hit by a suitor 'cause the mother does not accept' the proposed marriage of man.
From quelk moment, m especially since the early eighties, and 'quickly spread to India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and some countries in the Middle East, so there is no question of culture I will of tradition .. ..

Without words. Extraordinary document. India is a country where special things happen hallucinating. I remember a 16 year old girl stoned because he went to a girl of caste superiore.Lapidato!

Only one word for this photo. Dramatic.

Memy unfortunately the episode that mentions Schwanstuk remember, and it happened just in the areas where we were, in Uttar Pradesh. I do not know in which city or village though.

Hello Simon,
but it is isolated episodes ......
You have in mind as the agent that we met ....

The discourse of caste to another is a very complex and not always existed.

Yes ... I mind you!
Was to specify, but I know that they are isolated incidents.
I traveled a lot, and I have to say that the Indians are perhaps the most friendly people I've met and well disposed.
Not to mention that in every place we went I never had that feeling of lack of security that sometimes you feel when you travel in the most "poor" (if I pass the word).

Memy Hello, and happy holidays!

Simone
