Quella sera in foresta c'era un silenzio spettrale, interrotto solamente dai versi della ghiandaia siberiana e da qualche comparsa del picchio rosso maggiore. Il tempo lo trascorsi osservando dalle feritoie del capanno il meraviglioso ambiente che mi circondava e aspettando con ansia l'arrivo dell'orso. Finalmente dopo una lunga attesa lo vidi sbucare in lontananza. Si diresse verso il mio capanno a testa bassa, era il "pastore tedesco" soprannominato così per il colore della pelliccia, la fisionomia e la forma allungata del muso che mi ricordava vagamente quella la razza canina.
