La popolazione Iban comprende la percentuale maggiore (quasi il 34%) degli abitanti del Sarawak nel Borneo malese. Già noti per essere i più formidabili cacciatori di teste, dell'isola del Borneo, gli Iban di oggi sono generosi, ospitali e tranquilli. Gli Iban tradizionalmente abitano in case dette longhouse, una struttura che comprende molte ampie stanze capace di ospitare un'intera comunità di famiglie. In una casa tradizionale Iban si può ancora oggi trovare qualche testa a trofeo . Queste teste sospese ricordano una vittoria tribale e sono segno d'onore per la famiglia.
