E' più minaccioso il cielo o l'albero?? Volendo cercare di riprendere l'albero in controluce evitando di sovrapporlo agli altri arbusti presenti sullo sfondo mi sono praticamente sdraiato alla base e ho scattato a 12mm. Scattata in località S.Franca sull'appennino piacentino. Commenti e critiche sempre graditi #CieliTempestosi #Trees

They are not able to make a critical comment to this release for me is a nice point. The horizontal composition and the central shaft give way to heaven according protagonist only spazialmente..forse the tree on the right is slightly larger ... but I also like this asimmetria..più low so then how would you describe could not go then ..compliments.
Ps I am surprised of the few I like some of my have more.

Looking at the picture I miss the earth.
The title is correct, but the sky in the bottom left a little 'makes me think.
I exalted more the tree shadows pulling the top branches.
And I would have excluded the two tufts on the sides (left and right tree).
Or I tried with a pp from Dante's Inferno!

Image evocative and dramatic thanks to the clouds and pdr guessed. I agree on the lack of basic, indeed with focal ones you could find a square, perhaps with a vertical, although probably the distortion would be important. Postproduction to my taste is so beautiful.

The idea I like a lot, even the PP .... But my eye seeks the earth and gives me the feeling of incompleteness. I read the description and understand the difficulties

The photos I like, I'll tell you an idea I tried to realize even I, unsuccessfully, and maybe that's why I also like landless.

Yours is very beautiful and dramatic. A question: the two patches of blue want to be a hope? Ie they are looking for in your trip idea? Because right away I thought it was a shot in bn then arrived at the base I found these two splashes of color: if trasformassi bn would become in a further dramatic, but perhaps it was not your intent.

Really beautiful.

the subject is fabulous.
They distract a bit 'the bottom branches which are not part of the tree and that light between the clouds in the bottom left corner.
If you were already at 12mm I guess you could not do otherwise, but I would try to finding a better shot that isolasse the subject considered that still in your composition you choose to cut the base of the tree.
good development, perhaps slightly too dark at the top.

I like the colors and dramatic perhaps a vertical view would solve the sense of unfinished giving a little to me.

I really like, transmits drama thanks to the clouds so dark and imposing, I would have tried a conversion in b / n ;-)
I noticed that in the darker areas of the clouds (eg. At the top, bottom left and bottom right) there is a lot of noise, personally I would have tried to delete it at pp.

Without reading the other comments:
The shades are beautiful, the threat of time, there is everything.
The backlighting is well managed, this shot makes me feel the same thrill that I wanted to expose.
I would try, perhaps, to take two steps back and widen the field of vision, but perhaps includevi other disturbing elements that would worsen the picture.
I see a little underexposed, but for what you wanted to express is also there.
Marco.

Beautiful "colors" thunder and good person as well as branched from the idea of ??threatening. Personally I also added the element of earth.

I like it a lot both the subject and the realization, you breathe the smell of rain. Also I recently I posted a picture of the same theme.

Great shot Nicholas, especially after reading that you have taken to 12mm ...
Picture crisp, clean and very charming with a great development which completes a very nice picture ....
I always wonder "what would I have done differently?" Maybe I tried a vertical cut to add a little 'of the trunk .... definitely not down to the ground, however, because I really like the idea floating shaft
Compliments!!!
Roberto

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions! As I wrote in the caption aspect that I remember this shot is what it was difficult to isolate the rest of the tree background shrubs. I also vertical shooting with more trunk ... I have to fish it out and check that it has no other compositional defects.
