Ciao a tutti.

The Buddleja plant or butterfly has a very delicate flower with a scent that resembles' that of honey, that's why has the facility to attract butterflies.
Since the position of the wings and imagining that the pdc would not have been sufficient to obtain that this level be in focus, I tried to position myself to his shoulders, if possible maybe putting in a slightly higher photographing it from behind, but using a smaller aperture, so the shutter speed would be equally proved enough not to have moved.
With the brightness and subject predominantly white I would not have a positive offset the exposure, you risked overexposing.

the free hand is always very difficult, the position of Scarce Swallowtail you do not have some easy, I agree with my friend pigi on the choice of location, but I find it equally enjoyable shooting

First of all, Hello and thanks to all of the visit is that of the comment.
Pigi on the position you are right but the conditions were quite complex. The Scarce Swallowtail was having lunch so it was constantly moving among the flowers as soon as I moved to take her back she moved, I had even more photos from behind but all moves as you also put the wind.
For shutter speeds I was undecided until the end of iris a bit more closed and shutter speeds, and yet this is my dilemma. PG I think you're right about the overexposure, but with a light so hard I was afraid of losing the detail on the wings and overexposing the white so that he "shot himself."
Thanks again and to your instructions ... honored ....
Take this opportunity and wonder ... do you think that post processing do you recommend?
Hello David
