Il lago di Aral come molti sanno era uno dei laghi più grandi al mondo. In realtà però era un mare, perché era salato. Tanto pesce di mare, e tanti benefici economici. L'industria di trasformazione del pesce, era fiorente e permetteva all'Usbekistan, di esportarlo in moltissimi paesi. Ora al posto di tutto questo ci sono centinaia e centinaia di chilometri di un deserto assurdo, che sconcerta. Lo so perché li ho percorsi per vedere l'ultima pozzanghera piena di veleni che rimane. Negli anni 60 l'Urss cominciò a coltivare riso e cotone in condizioni del lavoro simili a quelle degli schiavi d'America. I cittadini venivano prelevati e costretti al lavoro coatto per mesi. Cominciarono a spargere veleni di tutti i tipi che andavano nei fiumi anche alimentavano il mare. Poi a deviarli fino a provocarne il disastro che ho potuto vedere. Il brutto è che anche oggi si trovasse un accordo per ridargli l'acqua dei fiumi non si potrebbe perché nel frattempo, gli argini sono stati costruiti, E ci abita molta gente. Il mare non tornerà.
