f/1.8, ISO 320, hand held. Berlin, Germany.

I agree with what you write.
As for the photo, I find it very well composed and communicative, in line with the caption.

Thanks for the photo. He was a great man, one of the few who knew how to divert the course of history towards positivity and goodness. Too bad that those who happened to him do not know how to do the same. Siro.

Congratulations Alberto,
a beautiful image (even I usually do not use my mobile phone to photograph) that documents the end of an era that will surely be talked about in history books.
Hello and have a good

A photograph like this makes me think about how important is the thought of those who do not care about the medium but the content.
The memory of men is short.
They are immediate in applauding and just as immediate in forgetting.
Generations succeed each other and to know all that remains is the knowledge of the direct witnesses of a given historical period and then the testimony in the books that report it through historians.
The discourse is broad and here the space simply brings only small lights, simplified fragments of thoughts.
I think that this photograph so small for means and reality reported brings a valid interpretative key of the general role of photography, transmitting exemplary contents.

I find myself in Patrick's thought.
For the rest, I do not have the necessary competence to evaluate the work and legacy of Gorbachev, I limit myself to noting how the judgment of History always oscillates between immediate beatifications, second thoughts, rehabilitations ... in parallel, day after day, the concrete life of peoples assimilates everything and quickly surpasses the same events and the same people who have given the direction in which history proceeds. I believe that your photograph effectively summarizes the meaning of all this.

I thank you, Patrizio and Michele, for your comments on this shot and the general reflections on photography and its role.
Unfortunately, the problem of human beings is memory; humanity forgets, even in a physiological sense, why history must be lived. There is a big difference between living and recalling. This is why history often repeats itself, when the experience no longer belongs to the new generations and the memory is mystified.
Berlin is a symbolic city, even of this.
Hello and good Sunday,

Hello Alberto, I was in Berlin this summer and I must say that I was really impressed by the magic of this city, its history and its many facets ... I really like your shot and I also find it very communicative with the presence of several fundamental elements ... not least the clock that marks the time of our experience with the memories that remain more or less alive in our hearts and in our consciences.
Sincere congratulations.
Greetings,
Massimo.

Well found, Massimo! :-) I am very pleased that you have appreciated this image and have identified the fundamental elements, thanks to your recent trip to Berlin. As you can see from the gallery I was there in 2019, as a tourist, after years of going there for work and I was fascinated by this city.

The very story of peace you mention has not been understood. And not only from his people. Hello
