Osservavo attento la punta dei larici per vedere se c'era qualche uccello posato. Andando avanti dopo un tornante su una strada d montagna, scorsi con la coda dell'occhio una frazione di secondo prima di avere la vista bloccata da un albero una macchia di una certa grandezza. Tornai indietro e puntai l'obbiettivo contro quella macchia e, quando fu messa a fuoco, rimasi colpito dai suoi occhi che mi osservavano penetranti da sotto un piumaggio folto.
