Mantises are also attracted to stars sent on August 04, 2022 (9:13) by Alberto Ghizzi Panizza. 27 comments, 3174 views.

20 sec ISO 3200, tripod.

Beautiful idea (as in many of your photos) but you have the visual feeling that the mantis does not belong to the shot. Hello, Andrea.

Great!
I'm also thinking about the Meike 10 mm (I already have the 12 mm) for the night, your feedback is very important to make a decision. I hope it's not too similar to the 9mm ZeroD of laowa ;-)

Beautiful background, but I agree with Andreaplus, even to me visually gives the impression of a photomontage ..
However, nothing detracts from the overall beauty of the shot and the perfect balance of the composition.
Greetings

Beautiful shot.
I can ask you one thing. Is a lens with the ring in which infinity is indicated and all maf distances or even with lenses with continuous ring can be used?

Beautiful milky way, the photomontage did not come very well though.

It is an image obtained by varying the focus during exposure.
I don't like it, I don't understand what drives you to use this technique and I don't like the results. But it is not a photomontage.

But it seems very much

Because the subject in the foreground is superimposed on himself. First blurry, then sharp. The blurry part creates "halos" and gives the impression of a messy montage.

Splendid realization, the mantis, however, appears a little "apart", both at the level of structure of the photo and "unreal".

technically it will also be perfect and very difficult ... but the result for me is horrendous. :-/

The meike is decisive. When I took him on my bike, a mantis attracted by the shimmer of my olympus pen-f jumped on my handlebars and pinched the brake lever. I risked falling and all in broad daylight. Ste mantidi so' tremendous! :-D :-D :-D

I never intervene in photos that I don't like because I seriously believe I'm no one to judge others.... having said that I make an exception because I consider this image a clear example of what should not be done in macro photography. It looks like a figurine attached to a TV. And I don't understand how it appeals to 33 people.
Sorry but for me, always with the utmost respect for the author, it is no across the board ..

I agree with Lespauly and add that I believe very little in the "story" made by the author
