Ballerina gialla Classe: Uccelli Ordine: Passeriformi Famiglia: Motacillidae Specie: Motacilla cinerea Dimensione 17,5 cm, si distingue ad ogni stagione da tutte le cutrettole per la coda molto lunga di colore nero, con timoniere esterne molto evidenti, parti superiori grigio blu e sottocoda giallo. Petto giallo brillante d'estate, fulvoccio d'inverno. Groppone giallo verdastro. Il maschio ha un sopracciglio bianco ed una evidente striscia bianca dal becco, giù, lungo la guancia che è grigio scuro. Mento e gola del maschio neri d'estate, biancastri d'inverno. La femmina è tinta di verde superiore con bianco sulla gola, d'estate e d'inverno. I giovani sono bruno grigi di sopra, fulvicci di sotto; si riconoscono da quelli della Ballerina bianca per il sottocoda giallo. Volo e comportamento come le cutrettole.
