L'Ardia é ardimento... sfida... competizione... adrenalina... provocazione... Ci sono tre momenti tra i piú significativi all'interno della corsa: la partenza da "su frontigheddu", la discesa dopo i giri attorno alla chiesa, la ripartenza dopo i giri attorno a "sa muredda". In tutte queste fasi il capocorsa deve anticipare i cavalieri che sono lí per sfidarlo, per provocarlo, per provare a sopravanzarlo. E se succede che ci riescano é uno smacco duro da digerire. Nella corsa del 6 Luglio, la prima di questa edizione 2022, Mario Chessa, il capocorsa, ha anticipato in maniera autoritaria e sorprendente tutti quanti, perfino i suoi compagni, "sa secunda e sa terza pandela".
