La Corvette C3 (3° Serie) fu costruita dal 1968 al 1982 nella versione Coupé e fino al 1975 nella versione Cabriolet (questa nella fotografia). Dal 1969... e fino al 1976... fu denominata "Stingray". Questa versione LT 1 venne allestita nel triennio 1970-72 ed era dotata di un motore "small block" (inferiore ai 6600 cm3) V8 di 5733 cm3 erogante 370 cavalli che portavano la vettura fino a 220 chilometri orari di velocità massima. Erano disponibili versioni speciali con motori “big block” fino a 7439 cm3 eroganti fino a 390 cavalli di potenza massima. Di quest'ultimo fu allestito un modello erogante 460 cavalli che però non fu mai prodotto per la vendita. La vettura aveva il telaio di tipo tubolare.
