Famiglia PIERIDI Pieris edusa (Fabricius 1777) Edusa Ali anteriori 21-24 mm Descrizione Farfalla di medie dimensioni, la cui livrea ricorda molto quella delle cavolaie. superiormente bianca con disegni neri all'angolo anteriore e netta macchia sul limitare della cellula. Le ali posteriori si presentano con macchie estese di colore verde scuro che si lasciano intravedere per trasparenza. La sua posizione sistematica è stata rivista solo recentemente, per cui in alcuni testi è possibile ritrovarla sotto il vecchio binomio di Pontia daplidice. Biologia Dalle crisalidi svernanti emergono larve che prediligono Crucifere (genere Sinapis ed altri) e Resedacee. I bruchi si riconoscono per la colorazione di fondo bluastra sulla quale fanno spicco strisce longitudinali gialle. Gli adulti compaiono in marzo inoltrato e da questo periodo in poi si succedono due o più generazioni a seconda delle condizioni climatiche. Distribuzione ed ecologia La specie è presente in tutta Italia, dalla pianura fino ai 1500 m. Nel comprensorio in esame è tra le farfalle più comuni ed accade di osservarla fino a novembre su campi, siepi e radure soleggiate.
