The photo that I propose takes the island Lachea (background) which is opposite the small town of Acitrezza.
I tried a somewhat different compared to the many shots I had seen and the actress front along with stacks that are next.
I then started searching probing several ravines that are located along the coast before and after the island in search of a vision that incorniciasse the small island and that would give the idea of ??the surrounding environment.
I liked the location of this succession of rocks and the movement created by the water that is wedged.
At this point I found the composition but still lacked two important variables light and time.
I returned on the spot several times but unfortunately often the first lUCI dawn are ruined by a blanket of clouds that is exactly where you would not want (there will be a Murphy's Law for the landscape photographer) and even when the light was the right sea conditions were so quiet as to make a composition bit 'too weak.
But one morning in mid-January all seemed promising: cold, clear sky, a few clouds on the horizon, wind and heavy sea.
Fortunately the rock of which you can see a small portion on the left is really very big and, acting as a breakwater, he protected me several times by raging waves that would have reduced me and my equipment a rag.
I waited for the sun to come out by coloring the scene justice and I exposed the sensor to 1,3s to F16 and 17mm using a GND 0.9 to 4 or 5 shots per find the right movement of the waves.

la foto che vi propongo riprende l'isola Lachea (sullo sfondo) che si trova difronte la piccola cittadina di Acitrezza.
Cercavo una visione un po diversa rispetto ai tanti scatti che avevo visto e che la ritraggono frontalmente insieme ai faraglioni che le si trovano accanto.
Ho quindi iniziato la ricerca sondando diversi anfratti che si trovano lungo la costa prima e dopo l'isola alla ricerca di una visione che incorniciasse la piccola isola e che desse l'idea dell'ambiente circostante.
Di questa location mi piacevano il susseguirsi degli scogli ed il movimento creato dall'acqua che vi si incunea.
A questo punto avevo trovato la composizione ma mancavo ancora due variabili importanti la luce e i momento.
Sono tornato sul posto diverse volte ma purtroppo spesso le prime luci dell'alba vengono rovinate da una coltre di nubi che si trova esattamente dove non vorresti (esisterà una legge di Murphy anche per i landscape photographer) ed anche quando la luce era quella giusta le condizioni del mare erano così tranquille da rendere la composizione un po' troppo fiacca.
Ma una mattina di metà gennaio tutto sembrava promettere bene: freddo, cielo pulito, poche nubi all'orizzonte, vento e mare molto mosso.
Fortunatamente lo scoglio di cui si vede una piccola porzione sulla sinistra è davvero molto grosso e, fungendo da frangiflutti, mi ha protetto diverse volte da onde impetuose che avrebbero ridotto me e la mia attrezzatura uno straccio.
Ho atteso che il sole venisse fuori colorando degnamente la scena ed ho esposto il sensore per 1,3s ad F16 e 17mm usando un GND 0.9 per 4 o 5 scatti per trovare il giusto movimento delle onde.
