La Diga del Cellina è stata pensata principalmente per la laminazione delle piene del torrente Cellina, pur essendo dotata di una derivazione che alimenta una serie di piccole centrali. La funzione dello sbarramento è principalmente quello di regolare il deflusso del torrente Cellina e quindi, diversamente dalle altre dighe essa è dotata da 2 enormi scarichi di fondo dal diametro di 8 metri (quelli della diga di Barcis sono di 4 metri) . L'acqua scaricata da queste centrali, viene poi convogliata in una rete di canali ad uso irriguo. Progetto esecutivo 1974,inizio lavori 1986, termine lavori novembre 2004, collaudo finale 2014. Capacità dell'invaso 25 milioni di metri cubi.
