first mineral moon test sent on April 06, 2021 (22:42) by Victoria74. 20 comments, 590 views.

con Nikon TC-14E III, 1/100 f/11.0, ISO 100, tripod. Senigallia, Italy.

Il mio primo tentativo sia di stacking che di sviluppo per ottenere una mineral moon..... critiche, suggerimenti e consigli sono ben accetti, anzi ne ho davvero bisogno.

hello Victoria,
very good as first attempt at mineral 8-)
I saw that you used a focal duplicator. so your equivalent focal point was 700 mm?
the best thing would be to fill it up to 1200-1400 mm.
x as far as the coloring of the moon is concerned, you should push a little more.
in this first attempt the colors are barely hinted at.
have you tried any tutorials on the net?
let us know, see you soon
Serafino

Hi Victoria,
it seems to me that you are on the right track!
Regarding mineral moon tutorials, I personally recommend this:

Hi Serafix
Cyo Daniele
thane you both
It was the equivalent focal point was 700; what do you mean when you say "fill" it up to 1200-1400 mm?
I followed a tutorial, for development with PS, unfortunately however my knowledge of the software is really poor so every now and then I lose a few steps and despite the fact that I seem to have followed the tutorial step by step, in my photo the colors do not come out ... dunno! :-/
I will try to follow the link you gave me Daniele.
thane again
Ciao Romina

fill the frame in the sense of making the moon larger, larger.
around it still has a lot of black sky. with a longer focal point you'd get more of the subject.
, try the tutorial daniele recommended to you: mineral moon is a nice experiment, a fun thing to try ;)
ciao, see you soon
Serafino

I agree with Serafix: your photos of the Milky Way are very nice! I envy you for the dark places you've been... You should have a little tracker so you could take pictures instead of a few tens of seconds, even a few minutes of exposure! Imagine what you could pull out! See for example here where I had used a friend's minitrack to take photos from 3 minutes from the beginning of the Apennines near Bologna... From the places you've been who knows what would come! www.juzaphoto.com/galleria.php?l=it&t=3256102

Thanks for the ride guys.
I actually started using an astro-pursuer, Skywhatcher Star Adventurer Mini; but my difficulties more than in the shooting phase are then in the processing phase.
I will watch the tutorials and try to apply myself more in the post.
I'm going to be there guys and hopefully we can get back around looking for dark places soon :-P

Well as a start... But it is necessary to saturate and contrast more to bring out the different colors of the lunar structures. Make other attempts and you will have satisfaction... You're on your way! Best regards. Enrico
