Good composition and color. Perhaps could have benefited from a little more DOF. Wally

Hello Wally, thanks for your precious appreciation. DOF, depth of field mean?
In fact I was a 7.1 but I have not had time to switch, the dragonfly has Remained on the perch just a few seconds.
See you at next. :-)

A fine specimen for a nice shot.
Congratulations on your free hand.

Julius,
Indeed, I know how quickly ones needs to respond in those situations. As I am sure you know, even at 7.1 Depth of field can be only fractions of an inch with very close macro shots. In which case the head and the eyes become the most critical. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether it's a missed focus or a DOF issue. Given the great focus on the abdomen, I would guess DOF. In light of the blended background you had, you might have done better with F11 or higher. Just some thoughts. Hope it's helpful. Wally

A beautiful subject, well taken, perhaps the blacks a little bit plugged, the color of the tail is phenomenal.

Congratulations
