La Fiat AR 51 (Autoveicolo da Ricognizione Modello 1951) denominata "Campagnola" fu progettata dall'ingegnere Dante Giacosa e costruita dal 1951 al 1955. Inizialmente era dotata di un solo motore a 4 cilindri in linea alimentato a benzina di 1901 cm3 erogante 48 cavalli poi... nel 1953... gli venne affiancato pure una versione diesel... sempre con 4 cilindri il linea... la cui potenza era di 40 cavalli. Normalmente aveva la trazione sulle sole ruote posteriori ma diventava una 4x4 se utilizzata dopo l'inserimento delle marce ridotte. Il modello qui visibile nella fotografia è una delle Vetture Storiche dell'Esercito Italiano.
