La fioritura della Peonia officinalis è spettacolare sia per la bellezza dei fiori, sia per il profumo indimenticabile, purtroppo dura poco e non è facile cogliere l'attimo giusto, oltretutto i petali sono molto delicati e vengono facilmente danneggiati dai temporali frequenti in quota nella prima metà di giugno. In questo caso, era terminato un temporale da poco più di un ora e fortunatamente i fiori erano piuttosto freschi e non ancora abbastanza aperti da subire troppo la pioggia.
