Uttakleiv Beach long exposure...

Lofoten 2020

Uttakleiv Beach long exposure sent on April 14, 2020 (12:20) by Nordend4612. 21 comments, 874 views.

at 16mm, 30 sec f/10.0, ISO 100, tripod. Uttakleiv Beach, Norway.

#Lofoten #Beach #Norvegia #Norway #Seascape #Lungaesposizione #Longexposure #Leefilters #Bigstopper

Here they are!! :-)
I really like you, David. The vertical cut at first glance seems perhaps a little dispersive, but I must say that observing it acquires its meaning, perhaps also thanks to the contribution of the vignette. Beautiful landscape and rendering of the tones rather accosted.
Compliments, I really like it!
Hello,
Davide
Ps: I hope everyone ok!!!

Hello Nordend, the cool tones of the photo I find them correct and well managed.
The place is beautiful and personally the vertical cut in the landscape I don't mind at all.
I would have changed format, eliminating a bit of sky and pruning everything to a more classic view with 2/3 of ground and 1/3 of sky.
I read your answer to Turbolumaca anyway and I understand your intention, even if it doesn't convince me at all.
A greeting, George.

Hello George. First of all thanks to you of the passage and the commentary. On heaven you have dusted off a doubt of mine; I think a sharp cut of the sky would better balance the composition.... I did some tests but it didn't fully convince me. I must say that personally I do not like too much-pushed crops, preferring images with classic proportions (3:2 or 4:3) or to the limit in square format.
In this case I did not mind the nuances of the sky that although not particularly fascinating seemed to give more depth to the clouds.
I'll be here, however, with your suggestion for processing future shots.
Thanks a thousand! ;-)
David

Beautiful David. I've read your speeches above, but I'm also the one with the idea that, perhaps, a horizontal shot would enhance the scene more. Let's be clear, I like vertical shots and I should apply myself more :-), but as composition here does not make... too much sky without details, I see well a cut just above the white clouds, for example. The close-up (very difficult in these shots) is fine, thanks also to the silk effect. I wait for the horizontal click then ;-) . Yes, places I would certainly like to see with the aurora (did you not see it?) but also for the special light that there is at that time of year there... greeting!

Thank you for the passage and the articulate comment Paul!
You're right, unfortunately the sky didn't have any particularly interesting elements and to get too low I risked bathing directly... :-D
I saw the aurora! One night... otherwise always snow and blizzard apart from a few days when you could turn well. Crazy landscapes and very beautiful light as long as you catch the good weather and not be too constrained by the family... that's why I'd like to go back just to photograph... I've never seen it in place where you can photograph pretty much anytime and anywhere... here it was in the early afternoon but the light was not hard, far from it.
I can just put the horizontal shot then.
Hello! ;-)

Very nice shot, congratulations! Even in my opinion maybe you could frame slightly less sky,
A greeting!
