Il mio primo giorno a Negombo,sono arrivato alle 2 am,ho dormito poche ore,causa fuso,mi sono alzato presto per un giro con la nostra macchina a noleggio abbiamo visitato i paraggi di Negombo, in tutte le direzioni ma in special modo le appartate semideserte stradine ai bordi della laguna a sud della cittadina, fermandoci qua e là al richiamo delle tracce affascinanti della prima colonizzazione europea (compresi i cimiteri cattolici, con le loro suggestive croci sulla spiaggia)qui un gruppo di pescatori insieme ai loro figli pescavano con le reti per poi vendere il pesce e guadagnare quel poco per vivere.
