Thank you Paul for your very welcome comment :-) , it is true, at a certain age the memories begin to have a certain weight on the topicality, the important thing is that they do not have the prevalence because anyway memories, even if beautiful, are just memories...
A warm greeting and a good Sunday

Thanks to 1000 Stefano, it is a memory of the past that risks becoming remote...
A friendly greeting and a good day although we will both spend it isolated in their respective regions :-(

In fact the photo is not very recent :-D , let's say maybe 1954/1955, I still live there, the terrace has since been expanded and rebuilt 2 times.
A very dear greeting and a good Sunday

Dear Alberto,
very a beautiful and very nice image.
Very nice the caption that, while it reminds us that epidemics have always been there, on the other hand encourages us to hope that, sooner or later, following the advice that is given to us and in strict compliance with the rules imposed (what, unfortunately, I fear that in Italy many do not :-( ) we will come... Out.
Hello and Good Sunday,
Paolo

Thank you Paul for the very welcome comment :-) :-) :-) :-)
The so-called "burraschetta" of 1600 was probably a flu fever that caused Mirandola about 200 deaths in a short time and as indeed a thunderstorm passed quickly, while the plague of 1630 literally halved the number of inhabitants of the Duchy of Mirandola causing 2000 victims.
I hope that the coronavirus will also quickly cease its action even if it is not aided by our genetic predisposition to evade or evade the advice of prudence :-(
A very dear greeting

Apart from the background you accurately explained and placed in its historical times, I came to ask you a question, your father liked to read Scott Fitzgerald? Your pose made me think of this writer, excuse the question perhaps silly ; a book that I always recommend when talking about viruses is the book of J. Diamond : Steel Weapons and Diseases , where it explains well the importance of viruses in the history of man but that you will certainly already know, however a beautiful document this photograph
cordially

Thank you Giuseppe, very kind :-) :-) :-) :-)
The photograph must have been taken by an active photographer in those years, on the back is the stamp "Photo Zanoli", my father had no camera for what I remember and so the pose to Humphrey Bogart pobably suggested the photographer Zanoli.
I look back on the book you recommended to me (I am interested in the historical and political side of that cyclical type of events) as soon as the "normality" is restored it will be my care to get a copy in a bookshop in Modena.
At the moment I think we cannot get out of the municipal borders except for justifiable reasons...
I thank you again for your attention and for your highly appreciated advice.
A sincere greeting
With esteemed Alberto
