Dobbiamo spendere meno e lo facciamo un po' per necessità (gli stipendi in Italia sono fermi da tempo immemore) ma cerchiamo anche di spendere meno. Queste du piccole riflessioni, tanai, possono essere allargate su una quantità di concetti pressoché infinita. In un mondo che ti spinge a consumare perché le aziende debbono produrre e debbono aumentare i fatturati perché sono quotate in borsa e gli azionisti vogliono i dividendi infischiandosene se dietro a quel dividendo c'è o meno sostenibilità. La gente butta il pattume per la strada perché non paga la raccolta differenziata, compera ciò che costa meno e non è peggio delle aziende che se ne infischiano della salvaguardia della salute dei lavoratori e dell'ambiente pur di essere "competitive". È la legge del mercato libero, della concorrenza. È quella regola che illuminati economisti sostengono che è capace di auto-disciplinarsi. Credo che i fatti dimostrino che quegli illuminati economisti, di illuminato hanno ben poco.
Non voglio giudicare nessuno anche perché non sono nessuno per giudicare. Io fotografo, e fotografo anche queste situazioni, con lo stesso spirito di osservazione, ma con un mezzo diverso, la mente e non l'occhio. Il problema è di difficile soluzione, ma la demagogia, di certo non aiuta. Mettere a tacere la coscienza può essere un placebo. Sovvertire un sistema che ci viene imposto dal sistema stesso vuol dire abbandonarlo. Ne abbiamo la forza?
Con questo non dico che bisogna arrendersi, ma per risolvere un grande problema servono grandi soluzioni, grandi iniziative, grande partecipazione, grande serietà. Se non ci riusciremo, non succederà niente di così grave per il pianeta. Scompariranno gli uomini.
