Mursi Girl sent on November 07, 2019 (12:39) by Mauro De Bettio. 15 comments, 1396 views.

1/125 f/3.2, ISO 100, hand held.

Great portrait!
A curiosity : but have you set up a small "field" studio? The lights seem to me studied ad hoc, it seems to me a photo posed, but with set prepared.
Then maybe I'm wrong.
Anyway.... nice work ;-)

Hello Francesco,
Yes, the idea was to perform portraits posed by studio.
I photographed various tribes setting up a mini-studio consisting of a dark background and a flash with 175cm softbox.

Beautiful work ...
Shot that deserves many more appreciations, but unfortunately the social soul of the site often concentrates attention within small swarms that halo each other and often without valid photographic reasons ...
Anyway ... Congratulations!

hello Mauro and congratulations on the pictures; The way you filmed reminds me of a job by Joey Lawrence with Phase One that he did in Ethiopia a few years ago (with support in the sequel though) and which I've been thinking about for a long time. Personally, understanding the way in which you have filmed and set up the various sets "on location", I really appreciate your work and the size of the softbox that you used give a light that I personally like very much, also be in these areas and equip the sets as you did and anything but easy, but you have to have been there to understand ... ...
A technical question: equipment in recovery? (room and used lenses)
Thank you and congratulations for the beautiful work (my opinion of course)

Thank you very much..
Joey is one of the rare artists I appreciate and who can inspire me, so I guess there's a bit of "him" in what I (sometimes) do.
Case so in this viaggo I had with me, in addition to 5D, a Phase One XF, IQ250, Schneider Kreuznach 80mm LS f/2.8, Schneider Kreuznach 55mm LS f/2.8, ProfotoB10 and Elinchrom 175 cm.
Traveling alone with all this stuff is not easy at all.
I had tears in Tigray (North Etioipa) when I climbed the mountains to reach the churches, but when I looked through the viewfinder and shot, my heart warmed...
A greeting and thank you again
Auro
