La recente esplosione dello Stromboli mi ha portato a rivedere un pò tutte le foto delle volte che sono stato sull'Isola: l'ultima a maggio di quest'anno. Tra le tante, mi sono imbattuto in questa fermandomi a pensare. La foto (del 2015) è stata scattata nell'intersezione tra l'inizio del sentiero di discesa e il sentiero che proviene da Ginostra ed attraversa la Valle della Luna. In questo punto "erano posizionate" alcune postazioni di monitoraggio del vulcano, la bocca che sbuffa dovrebbe essere quello che chiamano "cratere Ginostra" ma faccio sempre confusione. "Erano" perché tutta questa zona (mi dicono) è stata cancellata e ricoperta dal magma dell'esplosione di mercoledì 9 luglio. Ed ora ho le parole di una guida vulcanologica che, commentando la vicenda, mi risuonano in testa da due giorni: "siamo stati tutti molto fortunati". E un pensiero va a quel povero ragazzo, vittima inerme di un evento spettacolare quanto distruttivo...
