Thank you Luigi. It's probably an easy subject to photograph but when I saw it there motionless and not too far I couldn't resist and Took advantage of some shots ;-)

Thank you so much for the ride guys.
Mark, I admit my complete ignorance about the subject portrayed so thank you in advance if you can identify him yourself. I was photographing a colony of Magellanic penguins when I noticed it on a bush not too far away and attempted a few shots with him as well.
I have a bit of doubt about the post as it's not a genre I often treat: I hope I haven't messed up both in terms of the background and the plumage.

Hello Cristina, interesting catch... that Marco will surely be able to discover ;-)
On development for me you did not mess up, certainly much better than many VIP losers present here on Juzaphoto ahahah.
Returning serious, the background is very complicated to manage in post production... because of the dark, nuanced colors... you could do slightly better but nothing dramatic. To the subject I would have handled a selective sharpness a little more thrust, but even here nothing 'exaggerated' ,... essentially for me a development enough, which you will definitely improve given your desire to learn ;-)
Good evening
Fabio

A pleasure to read such a detailed comment Fabio!
For the background (to avoid mess) I admit i have done virtually nothing. I just used denoise in a completely automatic way :- I'm sure there are better ways to handle it, well come the suggestions :-)
For the rest I used only a few steps of raw room: with this I gave a slight brush of sharpness to the feathers.
I see myself retrying a new development by focusing on these things!
Thank you so much!
