Il ristorante Vecchia Padova che ci ha ospitati in quest'ultimo raduno a pranzo e cena, è pieno di gioielli vintage: ecco una parata di radio. Sono radio che hanno fatto la storia. Ecco, un breve accenno da "Elettrovintage". Il successo della Radio di Guglielmo Marconi Il successo della radio fu travolgente. Molte aziende investirono molto sulla produzione dei radio ricevitori. Le prime radio crearono un vero e proprio problema estetico nelle case degli ascoltatori. Si trattava di oggetti costosi, massicce, ingombranti e inizialmente poco curate. Nei primi anni 30 , cominciano a farsi strada i mobili in Arborite (cartone bakelizzato) che danno l'effetto tipico della radica nei colori marrone chiaro e scuro. Con l'avvento della Bakelite (1930) e della Catalina, materiale molto robusto con possibilità di diverse colorazioni si progettavano le sagome degli involucri radiofonici e davano allo stesso tempo un tocco di bellezza in più, che oggi sono diventati rari pezzi di prestigio nelle raccolte degli appassionati. EVOLUZIONE DELLA RADIO E PRIME NOTIZIE STORICHE Nel 1938 il Partito Nazionale Fascista al potere vietava per legge l'ascolto di radio straniere. Gli italiani che non condividevano ,e idee del fascismo e volevano sapere cosa accadeva nel mondo si sintonizzavano clandestinamente sulle frequenze di Radio Londra. Nel 1939, grazie alla radio, la notizia dell'occupazione tedesca della Polonia fece subito il giro del Mondo. Dai microfoni della BBC, il primo ministro inglese Chamberlain annuncia l'inizio della guerra contro la Germania: la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. • Radio Vaticana (1939):Trasmette in diretta l'incoronazione del successore di Pio XI, Eugenio Pacelli, che diventa papa con il nome di Pio XII. • Mentre si combatte, la radio cercava di alleviare la tensione delle popolazioni e nelle retrovie i soldati si commuovono ascoltando le note di Lili Marlene. • NBC (1941):"Non è uno scherzo: è la guerra". così dai microfoni della NBC viene annunciato agli americani il bombardamento giapponese su Pearl Harbour. • Italia (1942): dai microfoni dell' EIAR , la voce di G.B. Arista "Titta" annuncia la caduta e l'arresto di Benito Mussolini dopo la riunione del Gran Consiglio. Sbarco in Normandia (1944):Alle ore 03:32 il colonnello Ernest Depuis legge alla radio il dispaccio dello sbarco sulle coste settentrionali della Francia da parte delle Forze Navali Alleate comandate dal`generale Eisenhower. Cara, vecchia radio, andata quasi in pensione con l'avvento della televisione, ma questa è un'altra storia. C'è ancora chi ama la radio e, fortunatamente ci sono ancora ottimi programmi radiofonici.
