Il Ponte delle barche di Bereguardo è uno dei pochi ponti di barche in Italia transitabili in auto. Per la sua posizione, Bereguardo è sempre stata strategica. Nel 1374 i Visconti sentirono la necessità di unire le due parti del fiume Ticino tra Bereguardo e Zerbolò. Nel 1449 gli Sforza lo fecero sostituire da un ponte di chiatte stabile. Prima dell'unità d'Italia alle sue estremità si trovava il confine tra il Piemonte e Impero Austroungarico, ed era presidiato con soldati e doganieri. Nel corso degli anni fu ripristinato più volte, l'ultima sostanziale risale al 1913, quando furono posizionate le chiatte in cemento. Inizialmente fu costruito come opera provvisoria ma resistette a entrambe le guerre mondiali. Questo tipo di ponte segue la portata del fiume, quando il livello d'acqua del Ticino si alza le barche galleggiano. Oggi la struttura soffre inevitabilmente tutti i suoi anni e la scarsa manutenzione (nel 2013 i costi solo di manutenzione si aggiravano sui 70mila euro). A causa del fiume sempre più in secca, le barche non riescono più a galleggiare, incagliate tra i cumuli di ghiaia e poggiano a terra subendo inevitabii danni strutturali. Il Ponte è un patrimonio da conservare perchè per i tanti turisti provenienti dai dintorni, rappresenta un punto di passaggio importante per la visita del Parco del Ticino. UNA CURIOSITA' il Ponte delle Barche di Bereguardo è un luogo d'attrazione anche per gli appassionati di cinema essendo stato scelto da diversi registi come location cinematografica. I registi Castellano e Pipolo con Adriano Celentano girarono qui alcune scene di 'Mani di Velluto' (1979) e de 'Il bisbetico domato' (1980). (da Bereguardo e il Ticino).
