You can image we were very surprised that this Wildebeest(Gnu) not only came in to drink but walked right inside the waterhole. Where many of the antelope were skittish and Zebra especially so and would run away at the slightest movement, the Wildebeest(Gnu) are not the sharpest tools in the shed and would come very close. Maybe this subject was only 1.5 meters from our camera's. I think there may be a few people on this forum that think because you are in an underground hide the photography is easy. It is no more easy than being in a safari vehicle which is after all, only a mobile hide. All the animals that visit the hide are wild. They may come to drink for maybe only a few seconds and you still need to hope for good light, good position, the correct equipment and good reflexes.
