La Porta di Brandeburgo è uno dei principali simboli di Berlino. Adiacente al Muro fino al 1989, oggi è accessibile a tutti ed è l'emblema della Germania unita. Divenne così simbolo dell'unità tedesca. Oggi dalla parte ovest del muro una striscia rossa segna la traiettoria che seguiva il muro, dalla parte est invece questa striscia manca.
